City of Markham Curbside Collection Services
Tuesday is regular garbage day (we are located in Collection Area "A").
All collections are to be at curbside by 7 am (not the night before) and in a fashion required by municipal regulations.
No garbage container, including the blue recycling boxes shall be left on the common elements or any part of the unit which may be viewed from any other unit, except on the designated garbage pick-up days.

List of Hazardous Waste
Household hazardous waste is any product that is poisonous, corrosive, flammable, or explosive.
It includes:
• Aerosol cans (Full or partially full)• Anti-freeze and it's container• Batteries (dry cell and rechargeable)• Bleach• Brake fluid• Cosmetics• Detergents• Disinfectants• Fertilizers and their containers• Gasoline (containers must be left at depot and will not be returned)• Flea/tick collars• Fluorescent tubes and energy efficient bulbs• Glues and adhesives• Hair dye, hair spray• Household cleaners (includes oven, drain, floor, glass and toilet cleaners)• Hydrogen peroxide• Isopropyl alcohol• Mildew remover• Mothballs• Motor oil• Motor vehicle batteries• Nail polish and remover• Needles and syringes (must be in puncture-proof containers)• Oil filters• Paints (liquid and solid)• Paint thinner and varnish remover• Perfume and cologne• Pesticides, insecticides and herbicides• Pool chemicals• Propane cylinders• Rat poison• Scouring powder• Solvents• Sunscreen• Thermostats with mercury• Turpentine• Pharmaceuticals• Prescription medicines and over-the-counter drugs• Waxes• Windshield washer fluid
Note:
• Residential hazardous waste materials must be in well-labelled, sealed containers• Any/all containers, including jerry cans, will not be returned• Do not mix different products together• Needles and syringes need to be in puncture-proof containers• There is no cost to Markham residents
What Waste Can I Not Drop Off?
Please do not bring any of the following items to the depot:
• Ammunition and Explosives: Please contact your local York Regional Police Branch.• Hazardous waste generated by Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (IC&I) business sources.• PCBs, asbestos, lighting ballasts for fluorescent lights, medical and radioactive waste. Please contact York Region at 1.866.665.6752 for disposal information.
